What to expect…

When You Arrive

Worship here is warm and friendly. From the moment you reach our red doors, our greeters and ushers are there to welcome you. Our entire facility is fully accessible for those with mobility challenges.

For Families & Children

Children are a vital part of our community. You are welcome to enjoy:

  • Sunday School: Engaging lessons for various ages.

  • The Family Area: A space inside the sanctuary with rockers, quiet activities, and a front row view of the altar.

  • The Comfort Room: A comfy space for caregivers and little ones who need a quiet break during the service.

Prayer & Fellowship

After worship, we offer time for both spiritual reflection and community:

  • Prayer: Our priest or deacon is available for prayer immediately following the service.

  • Coffee Hour: Join us for refreshments in the Friendship Room (8:00 am) or outside in the courtyard (10:00 am).

  • This is a quiet and contemplative Communion service, with Bible readings, prayers from the Book of Common Prayer, and a sermon. 8am worship lasts about 45 minutes.

  • This is a welcoming and family-friendly service with traditional and more contemporary hymns, organ, piano, and sometimes guitar, communion, and a sermon to inspire and challenge us. This Liturgy lasts 50-60 minutes, with Children’s Sunday School offered during the school year.

  • In addition to our regular Sunday worship, we have special liturgies throughout the year. We offer additional worship opportunities during Holy Week, a special light and remembrance liturgy in December, and occasionally we worship at the beach or outdoors in our courtyard.

We would love to pray with you

Prayer is an important part of our faith life here at St. Andrew’s, and we are happy to pray with you or for you. A deacon or priest is usually available to pray with you after worship concludes. We also have an intimate chapel with devotional candles that is available for personal prayer, meditation, and reflection on Sunday mornings. If you would like special prayers, or to be placed on our parish prayer list, please complete the form below.

Music

Because music can help us encounter the divine and sense the holy, our music program is welcoming and inclusive just like the rest of our church.

Our volunteer choir is artfully led by our talented choir director, Marian Horton, whose passion is helping people discover their hidden musical talent.

Music at St. Andrew’s draws from the rich musical contributions of many peoples and traditions. It includes beloved traditional and contemporary hymns, Spirituals, gospel music, and other American folk music. Our choir is usually accompanied by a piano or organ, but we enjoy adding guitars and/or percussion sometimes.

If you like to sing, or think you might like to, we would love to have you in our choir. Whether you sing in the shower or are an experienced musician, there is a place for you here. Music reading is not required.

We happily support music throughout our Encinitas community. Numerous performing organizations rehearse and give concerts in our space.
