St. Andrew’s Labyrinth

A path of prayer and a tool for spiritual transformation.

Open to the public

A labyrinth is a walking meditation, path of prayer, and tool for personal and spiritual transformation. Labyrinths are ancient, dating back 4,000 years or more and are found in many cultures around the world.

Our labyrinth is a seven circuit medieval labyrinth made of bricks and grass. Since walking the labyrinth is done in silence, you are welcome to enjoy the practice any time -day or night. If you have a group of three or more, please contact the office to make sure your visit won't be interrupted by other events.

Group of people outdoors on a sunny day, standing and walking on a grassy labyrinth with white stones marking the paths, surrounded by bushes and trees.

How to walk the Labyrinth:

- Walk on the grass between the stones lining the path.

- Be mindful of God’s presence with you.

- Pass other people if you need to, or pause at the turns to let others pass you.

- Stay in the center for a time if you wish.

While walking You may wish to:

- Quiet your mind; be present with your breathing and your steps.
- Be open to the metaphors that come to you.
- Repeat a short prayer such as “Lord Jesus Christ” or “Come Holy Spirit.”
- Actively talk with God about a concern or intention; both speak and listen.

Many of the blocks in our labyrinth are placed in memory of a loved one, in thanksgiving, or to honor a special moment such as a wedding or confirmation. It’s moving to walk the labyrinth among the heartfelt desires of the community. If you would like to place a special block on the labyrinth, please contact us.
