Multi racial family praying and holding baptismal candle after baptism of baby

We are with you for life’s biggest moments.

St. Andrew’s wants to celebrate your big and small moments with you and support you through life’s challenges. We have special ceremonies for life’s many milestones, including Baptism, Confirmation or Reception into the church, and Marriage. And when a loved one dies, is ill, or approaches the end of life, we offer you and your family comfort and support.

Marriage

St. Andrew’s welcomes the opportunity to be with you as you begin your life as a married couple with us. Because we believe love is love, is love, we offer marriage to couples of all types. We will do everything we can to support you as you nurture your commitment to your life together. Click here for more information and to begin the process. If you have further questions, please contact us.

Baptisms

In Baptism you are welcomed into new life as a full member of the Body of Christ. Our community comes together and commits to support you and/or your child and to recommit to their own life as a follower of Jesus. All St. Andrew’s children are invited to come close to experience this sacred moment, and are often the first to welcome the newly baptized with a cheer. Click here for Baptismal registration form.

Confirmations

Confirmation is the time to affirm the vows that were made on your behalf at baptism and declare your intention to follow Jesus. We recognize and appreciate that each person's faith journey is different: some may feel ready to be confirmed in their teen years, others in their adult years. Teen confirmands participate in a year-long program and are occasionally accompanied by a mentor. Parents participate in a concurrent program. Adult confirmands participate in a month-long group designed to deepen their faith and understanding of the Episcopal Church. Please contact us for information on our next confirmation class.

Celebrations of Life and Funerals

When a loved one dies, there are many decisions to be made. We are here to help during this difficult time with spiritual counselling and/or referrals to appropriate helping professionals. We can also assist you in planning a memorial service that brings together family and friends to honor a life well lived. We are sensitive to the needs of you and your family, and will take into account different church-going experiences and levels of spirituality.

A planning guide can be found here, along with possible hymn selections and options for Scripture readings. Complete information about our columbarium— a memorial garden with niches for cremated remains — is available here.

For those of us who can still take the opportunity to plan our own memorial service or funeral, our planning can be a wonderful final gift to those we love when they must later carry out these arrangements. We offer a burial instructions worksheet that can be used to record those plans; click here to download one now.
