Interfaith Shelter
"It will serve as a pavilion, a shade by day from the heat, and a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain"
Isaiah 4:6
The Interfaith Rotational Shelter usually takes place in February of every year.
The Interfaith Shelter Network is a collaborative effort by local congregations, human services agencies and government entities to provide shelter, services, and resources to homeless San Diegans throughout the region. The Interfaith Shelter provides meals and sleeping accommodations for those in need on a short-term basis.
St. Andrew’s participates in the Interfaith Shelter Network’s Rotational Shelter for two weeks each year. Volunteers sign up to provide and share meals with the guests, stay overnight to assist with managing the shelter, and offer assistance for laundry and shopping runs. Announcements of the date and sign-up opportunities are made well in advance of the shelter opening.
