Christian Growth

All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

With the goal of fostering a closer parish community as we grow as disciples in Christ, the Christian Growth team at St. Andrew's offers a variety of programs. In addition to the Great Conversation each Sunday at 9 a.m., Men's Bible Study and Women's Spiritual Formation (offered alternating Saturdays), there are seasonal classes offered during Lent and Advent. Other special classes and seminars are held throughout the year.  For current offerings, check out the calendar or contact the office.

WOMEN'S SPIRITUAL FORMATION GROUP
This small group is a Christian fellowship to encourage one another in practicing the spiritual disciplines that will help us grow and take on the character and being of Christ.  Through reading, study and mutual encouragement, we seek to enter into a life with God – to understand what God has done and is doing in our lives as we open ourselves to the influence of the Holy Spirit.

We meet on the first and third Saturday of each month from 8 until 9:30 a.m.  During the first hour, we read, discuss and reflect on the text we are using.  The last half hour is devoted to prayer petitions for ourselves, family, neighbors and the world.  There is no advanced reading or study required – we actually read whatever book we have chosen as a group, prior to discussion.

Please join us at our next meeting.  If you have questions, please feel free to email Debbie Hickson.

WOMEN'S RETREAT
Each year, a group of women from St. Andrew’s makes a retreat to Vina De Lestonnac, a lovely convent and retreat center, located about 45 minutes from Encinitas.  It is the perfect time of the year to enjoy the beauty of  the hills and vineyards of Temecula.  Women of all ages and interests come, seeking a closer walk with God, the beauty of nature and fellowship of the women at St. Andrew’s.   The weekend offers time for learning and study, worship in new ways, small group sharing and individual quiet time for meditation and rest. Click here to learn more about this year's retreat.

MEN'S BIBLE STUDY
A small but reliable group of St. Andrew's men meet each second and fourth Saturday of the month at 8 a.m. to read, discuss and reflect on the Word.  For more information, contact Jim Temples or Bob Guiltinan.
