Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care ministry works to ensure that our parish members are helped in whatever way they may need.  Whether it is a ride to church, meals during a crisis or convalescence, or simply prayers, we take care of each other.  Here are a few of the specific ministries we offer:

FOOD MINISTRY

The mission of the Food Ministry is to support the parish’s mission by delivering a meal or two to a person or family that has had a new baby, is going through a period of convalescence related to illness, injury, or hospitalization, or is in crisis due to a death in the family, or the loss of work. Through this activity we seek to encourage within the St. Andrew’s parish family by matching volunteers with those parishioners whom they do not already know. In this way, we provide more than a meal; we sustain a sense of community in our ever growing church.

TRANSPORTATION

This ministry provides for parishioners who are unable to drive to medical appointments or to attend services at St. Andrews.  To request a ride for yourself or someone you know, give the church a call.

PRAYER CHAIN

We offer prayers for families and friends who are ill, in danger, in trouble, have died or simply need our support for special problems.  To submit a prayer request please call or email the church office.

CARDS

We provide timely cards to those hospitalized, mourning or otherwise in sorrow to show our compassion and prayers for their well being. If you know someone who would like to receive a card please contact the church office.

CONNECT

The Connect Ministry calls each parish member/family twice a year to see how they are doing and see how Connect may pray with them or for them.

LAY EUCHARIST VISITORS

The mission of the Lay Eucharistic Visitor is to take communion to parishioners (and their care givers) who are home bound or in the hospital once a month. By doing so, we strive to include all of the St. Andrews’ parish family in sharing the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Many recipients have shared how they look forward to these visits and receiving communion, and the difference it has made in their recovery and the hope it provided for their return to their parish family and normal lives.

Through this ministry lives have been transformed, both for those receiving and those giving, new friendships formed and bonds with the parish strengthened.

We hope to encourage parishioners to let us know when they, or someone they know, are unable to participate in regular church services so that we may bring communion to them.
