Rev. Wesley Hills, Rector
Father Wesley Hills is a cradle Episcopalian, raised in San Diego. After graduating from San Diego State University (B.A. in Political Scie nce), he received a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. After practicing for a number of years as a corporate litigation attorney with a large San Diego law f irm, Fr. Hills experienced a vision which called him to leave the legal profession and to begin studies for the priesthood.
He entered the Episcopal Seminary in Berkeley, California (Church Divinity School of the Pacific) and graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree. Following his ordination to the priesthood, Fr. Hills served as an Assistant, and later, Priest-in-charge of St. Paul's in Oakland, California. He was then called as the Rector of the Church of the Redeemer in Hermitage, PA, where he served for four years.
In August of 1995 "Fr. Wes", as he is known, began his ministry at St. Andrew's, Encinitas. He has been married for 26 years to his best friend, Terri. They live in Encinitas with their youngest daughter Gabriela, a recent graduate of Westminister College in Pennsylvania. The Hills family also includes three older children: Sean and Shana (living in England with their partner/spouse), Justin, a nine-year Navy veteran and currently a third-year student at the University of Illinois Law school, and three grandchildren: Paige (10) in Alabama, and Isabelle (16 months) and Chester (11 months) in England.
Rev. Dr. Larry Hart, Pastoral Associate
Father Larry has extraordinary qualifications and skills in education, counseling, teaching and writing. Besides having a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and a D.Min. with an emphasis in Pastoral Care, he is trained and experienced in spiritual direction. At St. Andrew's, he enjoys working with individuals, small groups, classes, seminars and programs.
Father Larry began his ministry as a Mennonite minister and later was ordained an Episcopal priest, so he brings to us a wealth of experience. Father Larry and his wife Brenda have made the Encinitas area their home. Their family consists of a grown son and daughter and their grandchildren.

Brenda Johnston and her husband, Russ, moved to California in September of 2009 to call St. Andrew's their new home. Shortly after moving they welcomed their daughter, Kiera, in May 2010. Brenda was born and raised in Ohio and has a Bachelors Degree from the University of Akron, where she was captain of the swim team and received a degree in Business and Organizational Communications.
Brenda's enthusiasm for sharing her faith with the young people of our parish has created a vibrant youth group which is always busy with worship, fellowship and service.
